Welcome to Career Compass. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our career counselling and university applications services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Career Compass is operated from India. These Terms are governed by the laws of India.

1. Services Overview

Career Compass provides:

• Career Counselling: Psychometric assessments, personality tests, aptitude evaluations, interest inventories, and personalised career guidance reports
• University Applications: Document management, university shortlisting, application tracking, and visa process guidance
• Consultation Services: One-on-one appointments with career counsellors

2. Account Registration

Eligibility

Our services are available to students of all ages. For users under 18 years of age, we may require parental or guardian consent and contact information.

Account Creation

Accounts are created by Career Compass administrators on your behalf. You will receive a secure login link via email. You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate and complete information
• Maintaining the security of your account access
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised access
• All activities that occur under your account

3. Use of Services

Acceptable Use

You agree to use our services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Provide false or misleading information
• Share your account credentials with others
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
• Use automated systems or bots to access the service
• Upload malicious files or content
• Interfere with or disrupt the service
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

Assessment Integrity

For psychometric assessments and tests, you agree to:

• Complete assessments honestly and to the best of your ability
• Not seek or use external assistance during timed assessments
• Not share assessment questions or content with others
• Complete assessments independently unless otherwise instructed

4. Document Submissions

When uploading documents to our platform, you:

• Confirm that all documents are genuine and accurate
• Grant us permission to store and process documents for providing our services
• Authorise us to share documents with universities only upon your explicit approval
• Accept responsibility for the authenticity of submitted documents

We reserve the right to refuse or remove documents that appear fraudulent, inappropriate, or violate these Terms.

5. Appointments and Consultations

For scheduled appointments:

• Appointments are scheduled by Career Compass administrators
• You will receive email notifications about scheduled appointments
• Please arrive on time for in-person appointments or join virtual meetings promptly
• Rescheduling requests should be made at least 24 hours in advance when possible
• Repeated no-shows may affect future appointment scheduling

6. Fees and Payment

Service fees are communicated separately and are not processed through this platform. Payment terms, refund policies, and billing details are provided in your service agreement with Career Compass.

7. Intellectual Property

Our Content

All content on our platform, including but not limited to assessments, questions, reports, templates, logos, and software, is owned by Career Compass or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, reproduce, or distribute our assessments or content
• Modify or create derivative works from our materials
• Use our trademarks without permission
• Reverse engineer our software or systems

Your Content

You retain ownership of documents and materials you upload. By uploading content, you grant Career Compass a limited license to use, store, and process this content solely for providing our services to you.

8. Reports and Recommendations

Career guidance reports and recommendations provided by Career Compass are:

• Based on the information and assessment responses you provide
• Intended as guidance, not guarantees of outcomes
• Not a substitute for professional academic or mental health advice
• Subject to the accuracy and honesty of your input

Career decisions ultimately rest with you and your family. We provide information and guidance to help inform those decisions.

9. University Applications

When using our university applications services, you understand that:

• We assist with the application process but do not guarantee admission
• University admission decisions are made solely by the respective institutions
• Application deadlines and requirements are determined by universities
• Visa approvals are subject to government authorities' discretion
• We provide guidance based on publicly available information and our experience

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

OUR SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

• The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Results from assessments will lead to specific outcomes
• Career guidance will result in particular career success
• University applications will result in admission

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CAREER COMPASS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of profits, data, or opportunities
• University rejection or visa denial
• Career outcomes different from recommendations
• Technical failures or service interruptions

Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or our services shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Career Compass, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• False or fraudulent documents or information you provide
• Your misuse of the services

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to our services at any time for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent or illegal activity
• Non-payment of fees (as per separate agreement)
• Any other reason at our discretion with reasonable notice

Upon termination, you may request a copy of your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall be:

• First attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation
• Subject to mediation if negotiation fails
• Governed by the laws of India
• Subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in India
